• Court Rituals and Ceremonies: The flower was used in elaborate court rituals and personal ceremonies. Historical accounts mention pools in palaces and gardens being scented with motiapetals, a luxury symbolizing refinement and opulence.
• Perfumery and Attar: The Mughals had a deep appreciation for fragrances (attars). Motia was one of the key flowers, alongside roses and kewra, used to distill essential oils and attars, which were highly prized.
