Mysore Snadalwood oil (Itt’r) is distilled from the aged sandalwood tree accordingly.

Origin and extraction process:

The sandalwood tree is a small evergreen tree that grows in India, Southeast Asia, and Australia. Here we are offering wildcrafted Indian Sandalwood Oil from Mysore, Which mostly called as “Mysore Sandalwood Oil“. The tree can grow up to 20 meters tall and has a reddish-brown bark. Sandalwood trees have been harvested for their wood and oil for centuries.

Belonging to the genus Santalum, there are over 15 different sandalwood species found across the globe, with some producing a highly aromatic wood (called heartwood) which retains its fragrance for decades.

Indian sandalwood (Santalum album) and Australian sandalwood (Santalum spicatum or Fusanus spicatus) are considered two of the most coveted varieties.

The heartwood contains sandalwood’s healing and aromatic properties which are due to two key compounds: alpha and beta santalol. Each species has different concentrations of these compounds which have been proven to calm the mind and nourish and protect the skin.

The wood of the sandalwood tree is very dense and fragrant. It is used in a variety of applications, including furniture, carvings, and incense. The Sandalwood oil is extracted from the wood of the tree through steam distillation. The wood is chopped into small pieces and placed in a still where it is heated with water vapor. This process creates a steam that travels through a condenser where it turns into liquid sandalwood oil.
